Napoleon, Emperor of Penguin Forces
Well what can I say? My brother loves penguins. I bought
one for him for Christmas, and then, ahem, *embellished* it. He
was absolutely thrilled.
This was actually quite a piece of work, although it was fun
work. The shirt was tricky to get to fit, and has some really
strange expansions and 45 degree seams. It has gold braid
epaulettes, made from strands of 28 ga. brass twisted together and then
braided. The belt is red ribbon laced through a few links in the
shirt, and tied with a miniscule belt buckle in more brass wire.
There is even a sabre; proof that you don't need a forge to make a
sword. I made it from a nail for the blade and tang, with brown
ribbon for the grip and wire for the guard. The result was quite
satisfying. It even has a little partial scabbard so that it can
hang from Napoleon's belt.
Rings:
20 ga 1/8" ID
Silver-colored craft wire
European 4:1 weave.
