This coif is the same basic design as my 45 Degree Full Coif, with some modifications -- a forehead dag and face flap -- taken from my first Full Coif by the customer's request.  He wanted it to be blackened steel to match a shirt that he already had, and finally, it was to have a bronze trim.  Despite a little trouble getting the blackened rings, the package finally arrived and I finished most of the weaving over a three-day weekend.

It is certainly a showpiece:  not all of the steel got a solid coating of the blackening substance, giving it some nice oily bronze overtones that make for an interesting color.

It is modeled by its owner in the picture.  After receiving the coif, he asked for a couple other pieces as well:  modifications to the original shirt and a flail (a tie as well, but I failed to get a picture of that one).

14 ga 7/16" ID (originally supposed to be 3/8", but springback was complicated...)
